k8mw amateur radio

First licensed as a novice on November 06,1958 as KN8MWB. Upgraded to General class the following spring and  became K8MWB on May 28, 1959.  With the advent of incentive licensing and the loss of the 25 kHz CW frequencies at the bottom of the HF bands I upgraded to Extra class, passing the exam on February 09, 1973 at the Columbus, OH FCC field office.  When the FCC eliminated secondary call signs in 1978, I opted to take my secondary call, K8MW, (not a vanity call) on August 25, 1978.  I operate mostly CW, some Phone and now have fun with the new FT8 digital mode. I am an avid county hunter and have confirmed all 3077 US counties, mixed, all CW, all 20M, all mobile. I like to chase DX (have all DXCC countries confirmed on CW except for P5 - North Korea and BS7 - Scarborough Reef), and also enjoy rag chewing on CW. I operate on 160 through 2 meters.
